BLURB:
The sparks of dislike burn hot, but the sparks of mutual attraction burn even hotter.
Ever Montgomery suffered the ultimate betrayal by the one man who she should have been able to count on for anything. It has left her hurt, jaded and incapable of forming relationships, but it also means that she can spot a liar a mile away. These traits are earning her a reputation as a reporter with a keen nose for a good story and a complete understanding of the extreme power of the written word.
Lincoln Caldwell, is the hot goalie for the New York Rangers. At twenty-four and a rising star, he works hard and he plays even harder. He’s gorgeous and carefree—the ultimate charmer. Ladies fall at his feet and the single life has never been lived the way Linc Caldwell does it.
When Ever publishes an article about Linc containing information that she received off the record, she finds herself on the receiving end of the athlete’s fury. Rather than basking in the glory of exposing Linc as a shameless user of women, she finds herself at his mercy when he demands and receives retribution. Required by her editor to trail Linc for six weeks, Ever is forced to look at the real Linc Caldwell.
And she just might find that she has misjudged him.

REVIEW:
The story:I love a good enemies turned lovers story and this one didn't disappoint! Ever has been hurt by men in the past and it effects the way she sees all men - to her they all have the power to hurt her and in the end they all will. Enter Lincoln - Ever is writing a feature article on him and when she meets up with him at a party he's hosting to interview him, her untrusting mind misreads a few things and she writes an article painting him as a douchey man-whore. Naturally Linc is peeved and has her boss assign her to follow him around for 6 weeks to get to know the 'real' Linc and rewrite the article. And this is where the really fun begins!
Ever tries to portray herself as a tough and confident person, but on the inside she is still hurting from the betrayal of her ex-fiancee and more importantly her father. She's closed off to the world until Linc enters her life and shows her she can be happy again.
The sexual tension between these two was of the charts! Over the 6 weeks, Ever slowly lets her guard down and sees Linc for who he truly is. She tires to convince herself that she's only in it for the physical side of things, but the only person she's fooling is herself. These two had some seriously hot schmexy scenes & of course an argument for two (which you know always leads to some hot make up schmexy schmex!) There where also some sweet romantic moments too - showing that these two are the real deal :)
I loved Bennett's style of writing! So often novels either have a great story or a great romance - well this had both. Bennett writes some seriously hot & I have to say quite creative love scenes (two words: balcony scene!), but she doesn't compromise characterisation or a solid story! *applauds like a maniac*
FINAL WORD:
A hot steamy novel with an excellent story to match! A relatable heroine, a swoon worthy hero & so much sexual tension - this is definitely a must read & I can't wait for the next in the series!
CONTENT:
Sexuality: strong / several strong sex scenesViolence: mild
Language: strong / frequent use of f**k
Drugs & alcohol: mild
