BLURB:
A hot and consuming New Adult romance about a wayward musician and the one girl who keeps him grounded…
At college, Rachel has a reputation for being a sarcastic flirt with a thing for star athletes. No one at school knows that she’d had her heart ripped to shreds by her high school sweetheart, who’d driven them both off the side of the road on a borrowed motorcycle, and then abandoned her. No one knows the real Rachel Mattson—except one person…
Ever since he helped nurse his sister’s feisty best friend back to health, pierced bass player Kai Nakos has been head over heels in love. But the supposed bad boy can’t risk letting Rachel know the truth—especially now that the two of them are back in their hometown for the summer, together for the first time since the months following that fateful night. Never mind that Rachel’s ex is back, groveling for her forgiveness.
Shaken by her ex’s return, Rachel finds herself turning to the one guy she knows she can trust. Kai is willing to hide his feelings for her, just to have Rachel touch him again. After all, this is only a temporary fling. Until it becomes something more. But maybe it had been more all along.
A Touching Story Of Renewal & Second Chance Love
REVIEW:
The story:
Rachel is known for her carefree attitude and her love of college jocks. But easy going and party lifestyle are only a cover for the pain and hurt she suffered before leaving for college. After suffering series injuries in an accident, her family, best friend Dakota and Dakota's brother Kai are the ones that stand by her through rehab. Kai was the rock she needed when it like her whole world was crumbling around her. But after her recovery, Kai moves to Amsterdam, while Rachel leaves for college. Trying to forget her past with meaningless flings, she feels more lost than ever.
But it's Summer, and they are both back home and the feelings that they felt haven't gone away, but are in fact so much stronger. The sexual tension was HOT and these two steamed up my Kindle on more than one occasion!! But their connection wasn't just in the bedroom, they truly cared more each other. Kai's concern over her recovery was heartwarming and seeing Rachel support Kai through his self doubts was heartwarming. But both of them are afraid to admit their feelings, afraid to ruin their friendship. How long can they deny their true feelings?
The characters:
After seeing Rachel in the first two books, I wasn't sure she was a character I was going to warm to. But I actually loved her. She's a lot more fragile than she lets on and despite her tough persona she portrays she's still hurting from the aftermath of the accident. Kai is the only one who can look past the broken girl and see the real Rachel. She lets all her guards down around him and feels free for the first time since she left for college.
Kai is officially on my top book BF list! It's so refreshing to see a culturally diverse character, with Kai being part Native American & part Dutch. Kai is such as perfect mix of sweet and super sexy. A pierced bad boy who is one hell of dirty talker *fans self* But he's also so kind and caring, especially towards Rachel. He's made many mistakes and has such a negative image of himself, my heart broke for him. He just couldn't see how amazing he really is - that is until Rachel gives him the encouragement and support he desperately needed.
I liked Dakota, but I felt she was very judgmental, especially towards Rachel. She judges her for her mistakes and for the way she handled her life after recovery. But it was still clear she cared and truly loved Rachel. I feel like there is a story behind her 'perfect' image and would love to find out what she's like behind that perfection.
The romance:
The chemistry between Rachel & Kai was simply sensational. Because of their history, the romance has so many layers of friendship, attraction, passion and love, which gave their relationship incredible depth. Their romance starts out as somewhat of Summer fling, but soon develops into a complicated but oh so sensual affair. Keeping their risqué affair secret from Kai's sister Dakota just added to sexual tension - off the charts!!
The writing:
Christina is without a doubt one of my favourite authors! She writes such heartfelt romances with relatable and realistically flawed characters. Her writing is so emotive, I'm always left with a massive book hanger! The love scenes were fabulous with the perfect mix of romance and steamy passion. Did I mention Kai has is pierced (yes you know where I mean ;) One itsy bitsy tiny weeny thing - I would have liked to have seen is an epilogue, possibly with Dakota's reaction. But that is such a small thing compared to the overall awesomeness that is the book!
FINAL WORD:
I'm such a huge fan of Christina's books and this one is no exception!! Whisper To Me is a touching story of renewal and second chance love

Darcy Pepper isn't one for long-term relationships. Bouncing from guy-to-guy to get what she wants isn't satisfying her anymore. Walking out on her current boy-toy, she finds herself at a tiny hole-in-the-wall pub. More disappointed in herself than she's ever been, she sees Mac, a girl she vaguely remembers from high school.
Left flat broke, the girls quickly enlist the help of a waiter at Tony's and before they know it, they've got an apartment, jobs, and possibly even love interests beckoning.
Maybe things aren't so hopeless after all.

Sarcastic & Witty With Fun & Interesting Characters!
REVIEW:
The story:
Mac & Darcey are both going through a rough patch in their lives, which relationships ending, no jobs and being flat broke. Although they went to high school together, they don't really know each other, but they decide to pool their money move in together, the question is where? And that's where B-Rad comes in and offers them a crappy little apartment above his family's pizzeria. And he just so happens to live down the hall.
After learning they both want to be writers they plan to write their first novels and plan to save for a trip to a writer's festival. I loved the dynamic between Mac & Darcey, they didn't just instantly become BFFs and tell each other their deepest darkest secrets while braiding each other's hair. Instead they took their time getting to know one another and actually kept a few secrets from the other.
The characters:
On the surface Mac & Darcy have similar personalities and are both survivors, doing what they have to. But as we get to know them we start to see they are quite different. Mac loves high fantasy novels, while Darcey prefers a nice contemporary romance novel. But somehow these two develop a nice balanced friendship with each other.
B-Rad came across as a bit of a douche at first, with his self-righteous attitude and cocky personality. But when it was just him and Darcey in a scene, he was a completely different guy and I preferred this kinder, sweeter side to Brad so much more.
Mac's love interest, Preston was a little more mysterious. He doesn't have as much 'screen time' as the other 3 characters, so we don't get to know that well yet. I can't wait to see more of him in the next book!
The romance:
Mac doesn't warm to B-Rad at all, seeing him as a creepy sleaze, but Darcey sees there is more to him than he's overconfident attitude. She gives him a chance to just be himself and loose his tough persona. They spent a lot of time together and are a really cute couple
After being cheated on by her ex Mac isn't looking to jump into a new relationship, but after meeting Preston at the pizzeria she can't resist his charms. Before letting things go too far with him she runs. Little does she know he's friends with B-Rad and they end up seeing a lot more of each other. I expect great hotness from these two in the next book!!
The writing:
This book is told in dual POV, but it's different from your regular Male/Female love interest MCs. Instead we have to friends POVs with two separate love interest, which actually gives up four main characters in a way. My only small issue was the character voices of Mac & Darcey did sound very similar in the beginning, but as we get to know them their voices started to develop and take on their own sound.
FINAL WORD:
This is no sweet and sappy romance story, this is sarcastic and witty with fun and interesting characters!

BLURB:
Former pro-football kicker Sam Ridge has notoriously bad luck with women—from cheaters to fame chasers. Still, the gorgeous brunette at the bar in Fool's Gold looks harmless—until she takes him home and he discovers a room devoted to securing a man, for life.
Dellina Hopkins never guessed that storing gowns from a friend's bridal boutique would chase away her first and only fling. After her parents died, she skipped her "wild youth" to raise her sisters. She doesn't want forever from Sam, but one night—all night—would've been nice.
His clean getaway gets messy when his firm hires Dellina to plan an event. As long hours lead to late nights, the two succumb to temptation again. Has Sam's luck finally changed? Or this time, will Dellina be the one to run?
One Of Mallery's Steamiest Books Yet!
REVIEW:
The story:
Poor Sam has been extremely unlucky in love, and has been hurt too many times to count. Worst of them all was his ex wife Simone who wrote a tell all book about her marriage with the NFL star. With so much heartache he's all but given up on woman and love. And after a fun night out with Dellina turns into his own personal nightmare, he doesn't think he's luck is ever going to change. After discovering a her spare room filled with wedding dresses he panics and runs, believing she's a crazed woman trying to snag him as her husband. Now he has to work with Dellina planning an important party for his company, and is forced to face her for the first time since their passionate night.
But after Dellina is finally being able to explain the little misunderstanding, things between them settle into a comfortable working friendship. That is until the sparks start to fly between them and they struggle to ignore their growing attraction.
The characters:
For a tough ex NFL player, Sam is actually quite sensitive - not that he'd like to be seen that way. After all the pain and hurt he's gone through romantically he really doesn't trust woman at all. After growing up with parents who wanted to be involved in every part of his life, he values his privacy and is vary wary of people's intentions. I really enjoyed seeing him relax and open up around Dellina, it showed how much he trusted her.
Dellina, is a very organised and efficient woman and it was clear she was in her element planning the party. After loosing her parents at an early age, she took on the responsibility of caring for her sisters. So it was really great to see her able to enjoying her own live now. It was also interesting to see her explore her sexuality, it showed how open and trusting she was around Sam.
Sam's parents were some very interesting characters. They reminded me of the parents in Meet The Fockers! They most certainly have some boundary issues and don't know the meaning of over-sharing, especially when it comes to sex. They added a real spark to the storyline and created some very interesting scenes!
The romance:
Despite their romance starting out as a one night stand (prior to the beginning of the book), their relationship built nice and slowly. After they overcome the initial awkwardness, they start to build a strong friendship, and it's that friendship that makes the romance so much more believable. The love scenes in this book are the most experimental I've read in any of Susan Mallery's books, with pressure points and g-spots being explored several times. It certainly made for some seriously steamy scenes!!
The writing:
Told in third person, the story alternates between Sam & Dellina's perspectives. But we also get the occasional mini chapter of Dellina's sister, Fayrene's story, as she tries to subtly persuade her boyfriend into proposing to her. Plus we get a few bonus chapters about Mayor Marsha, which was interesting. I liked the extra little side stories, it just added something extra and filled the book out nicely. It also introduces the plots for the next couple of books in the series.
FINAL WORD:
This book is all about trust and learning that love is worth the risk in the end. Before We Kiss is another fun and sexy adventure in Fool's Gold…"The Destination of Romance"

BLURB:
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.
In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.
Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.
But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.
Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.
Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.
And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.
Cora's Trademark Humour & Endearingly Awkward Heroine!
REVIEW:
The story:
Dallas is trying so hard to find her own place in the world - most importantly separate from her father and football, that dominated her high school life. After having her heart broken by her ex boyfriend and star QB, she's sworn off footballers for life. After meeting and hitting it off with new guy, Carson, at a party Dallas thinks collage life in finally looking up, that is until she discovers Carson is on the football team.
Meanwhile, Carson can't believe that the quirky girl from the Rusk college party, is none other than the very off limits daughter of his new coach. With money being tight in his family, Carson is desperate to make the field in the coveted QB position to score a scholarship. And a girl, especially the coaches daughter, is a distraction he doesn't need.
Both have good reasons to avoid a relationship with each other, but the attraction between them is undeniable. Soon their reasons to stay away don't seem so important anymore.
The characters:
Dallas is such a relatable heroine. Some of her thoughts are things that we all think at times, but would never admit out loud - it was both hilarious and somewhat reassuring! At first Dallas was a little weak at standing up her father. She lets him make a lot of decisions about her life and it was great to see learn to take charge of her own future.
Carson, the deliciously sexy 2nd string QB was just perfect. He's tough, dedicated, with a kind heart and did I mention sexy as hell! He's extremely driven and has worked so hard to keep his spot on the team. And while he's not so strong in the academic side of things, I love that he still tries, it just highlighted his dedication.
The romance:
The chemistry between Carson & Dallas was fantastic! From the first scene where they meet it's clear there are sparks - hot fiery sparks!! But they both have reasons to keep away from each other, and watching them try to deny their feelings just added to the sexual tension! Their romance was slow to build as the got to know and trust one another, which made it all the more sweet and sexy!
The writing:
I love Cora's writing style, with her quirky sense of humour running through all of her books. Her heroines are always down to earth and extremely relatable. And with the perfect mix and sexy angst and hilarious'y embarrassing scenes, her books are always so much fun!
FINAL WORD:
With Cora's trademark humour and endearingly awkward heroine, All Lined Up is sure to be another winner!!

When Stella Jo Chandler gets an offer to work at the Second Chance Ranch celebrity rehab facility right after graduating from Texas A&M, she’s tempted to turn it down. She wants to help real people with real problems, not spoiled celebrities going on vacation for publicity. But growing up on her family’s ranch left her with a love of horses that draws her to the opportunity. How bad can babysitting a bunch of strung out celebrities be?
What she didn’t count on was being roped into a tangled mess with infamous rocker and three-time rehab drop out Van Ransom on her first day. And she sure didn’t expect to feel the overwhelming attraction that pulls her to the man who has more issues than she can count on both hands. Like the hotel rooms and tour buses he’s famous for trashing, the havoc he could wreak on Stella’s heart would be irreparable.
Van isn’t at Second Chance for publicity or because he’s suffering from “exhaustion”. He’s on the brink of destruction, and he needs the kind of help Stella isn’t sure she can give. But without her, he'll lose everything. Because he’s on his last second chance.
Darkly Provocative With One Sinfully Sexy Hero!
REVIEW:
The story:
This is the ultimate forbidden romance, with both Stella Jo & Van risking their careers to be together. This is Van absolute last chance to redeem himself with his record label threatening to cut his band he he doesn't clean himself up. Checking into the rehab facility he doesn't really think he has a problem, until he meets sweet & sexy employee Second Chance Ranch. She's the light to his dark and all Van can think is how unworthy he is of her attention.
Stella Jo is trying to find her place in the world after graduating from college. Determined not to go home to her demanding mother and cold unaffectionate father, she takes the job at Second Chance Ranch. Upon meeting Van, she see something in him, and can't stop thinking about the troubled musician and his sexy smirk. As it becomes hard and harder to ignore their attraction, Van's addiction and getting caught is only some of their worries. With Van's ex creating waves and Stella Jo's family dropping a HUGE bombshell, can their fragile romance withstand all the pressures?
The characters:
Who doesn't love a bad boy, and none come more sinfully sexy than Van Ransom! This sizzling hot musician has some dark demons to battle, most importantly his battle with drug addiction. He's cocky and unapologetic, but that's the what makes him so damn attractive.
Stella Jo is caring woman and want to make a difference in people's lives. I love how she could see past Van's mistakes and see him for the real person underneath. It was also great to see her come out of her shell and explore her sexuality with Van.
The romance:
Hot damn, this romance is bursting with some seriously provocative scenes!!! These two couldn't be in the same room as each other without naughty thoughts popping into their head!! The added fact that they had to keep their sexy affair a secret only added to the steam factor, with spicy rendezvous in the barn and private rooms. But what I loved about the romance between Stella Jo & Ransom was that it wasn't what 'heals' Van, but it does give him motivation. Stella Jo makes him want to be a better person, and Van starts to see a real future for himself, rather than just where he'll get he's next fix.
The writing:
I love Caisey's writing, it's always filled with emotion and passionate characters. This is by far Caisey's steamiest book yet, with lots of sexy love scenes (one of which may or may not include a riding crop). She also doesn't shy away from giving her character realistic flaws, they make mistakes, sometimes huge mistakes, but that just makes the characters and their stories all the more believable!
FINAL WORD:
Last Second Chance is darkly provocative & gritty story with one sinfully sexy hero! If your after a steamy read with a powerful storyline, look no further!

Now, Maggie is ready. And Quentin Mercer – heir to the M-Corp empire – has become key to Maggie’s plan. But as the pieces of her dangerous design fall into place, could Quentin’s involvement destroy everything she’s fought for?

REVIEW:
The story:
Wow this book…I don't even know what to say except I LOVED IT!!! Such a unique storyline and one that really makes you think. I actually felt like this is something that could honestly happen in the not to distant future and I find that both scary and extremely exciting!
Despite this book being labeled as a dystopian, it's more of a sci-fi, with the story being set in a slightly futuristic version of our own world. The only difference between this world and our current one is the 'M-band' technology. An M-band in basically like a smart phone on your wrist, and at 18 a compulsory app called 'Phera-tech' is activated. It can tell you how compatible you are with someone based on the pheromones the put out (ie. over 40% would good friends, over 80% would make a great romantic pairing). But if you score 4 negative ratings within one month - your labelled a Neg, believed to be a risk to society, and taken away. And this is exactly what happened to Maggie's father.
Maggie is determined to find her father in one of the many secret underground holding locations. With the help of her 'friend' Gus, she's worked so hard to find him and is getting closer, and with the help of Quentin Mercer - son of the creator of the M-Band - she believes she will finally find him. But while working together, they grow closer and for the first time ever Maggie starts to question her actions. How far is Maggie willing to go to find him and is she prepared to live with the consequences?
The characters:
Maggie, finally a strong kick-ass heroine!! It was so incredibly refreshing to have a female MC who wasn't completely in the dark and constantly being rescued - in fact it's Maggie who is doing the rescuing. She doesn't like to rely on anyone else and know how defend herself. But despite Maggie's strength, she is also realistically flawed, making decisions that she later comes to regret, but this just added to her being such a realistic and relatable character.
Quentin Mercer is in the position that we often see YA female characters in. He's just starting to realise that the world he believed was safe, is not what he thought it was. While trying to come to terms with the new revelations he also doesn't want to believe he's father would be capable of these evil actions. Quentin, while perhaps a little naive is incredibly loyal and I completely fell for him.
Gus is one of my favourite characters and he's relationship with Maggie. Despite Maggie holding possible blackmail over his head, they seem to have form a strange and unorthodox friendship. They constantly bicker and argue, creating some hilarious conversations that often became scene stealers. But somewhere under all that they do care about each other - and thankfully it always remains plutonic.
The romance:
The relationship between Maggie and Quentin is quite unique. At first Maggie sees Quentin simply as a means to an end, a stepping stone to finally locate her father. But as she starts to see past the 'heir of M-Corp' label, she starts to see the real Quentin. The chemistry between the two of them was excellent and they both try to ignore their growing attraction for very different reasons. This romance was very slow burning, which I loved and I can't wait to see more of these two!!
The writing:
I'm a Jessica Shirvington fangirl, there, I said it. She is my favourite author ever and in my opinion she can do no wrong. It's obvious when reading her books, that she does her research, and as a result the backstory and world building are always strong and draw you into the book. There was also plenty of action to push the story along, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough!
FINAL WORD:
Disruption is an absolute STOP-WHATEVER-YOUR-DOING-AND-READ-THIS-BOOK-NOW, kind of story!!! A strong heroine, a unique & compelling storyline, incredible writing and plenty of action…what more could you ask for?! Go read it NOW!!

TEASERS
EXCERPT
Van stood at the edge of her bed and stared down at her. He had to clench his hands at his side to keep himself steady.
Fuck, she was beautiful. She was more than beautiful. She was a goddess. She was something no one had created a word for yet. Because no other such creature had existed.
“Lose the blanket, Stella Jo.” His gravelly voice filled the small room.
She nodded, licked her lips, and slid the white comforter down. His eyes narrowed when he saw that she’d left her bra and underwear on.
“I said naked, cowgirl. But you know that, don’t you?”
“I was…” She paused to take a deep breath. “I thought I had more time.”
Setting the rope and riding crop on the bedside table, Van crossed his arms. “You have all the time in the world. Go ahead. I’ll wait.”
Her emerald eyes widened, meeting his with an ‘are you serious’ stare. He nodded once at her unspoken question.
She stood on shaking legs, and he resisted the urge to let her off the hook. She was nervous. She should be. He was going to do things to her that would wreck her—things she wouldn’t be able to forget for as long as she lived.
He planned to make damn sure of it.

BLURB:
Just when she thought things were going up…
Two years after a devastating breakup, Brittni Mitchell has moved on from Justin Avery—or so she tells herself. But when she returns to Seattle for her best friend’s engagement party, Brittni finds herself the victim of a disastrously timed elevator breakdown. She’s trapped with the last person she wants to face, and forced to recount the past she desperately wants to forget.
She’s going to have to look back…
When Brittni left her podunk hometown for a big city college experience at the University of Washington, hooking up with a guy like Justin Avery was not part of her plan. Between Justin’s attention-grabbing tattoos, cigarette smoking, and bad boy attitude Brittni quickly chalked him up as Mr. Wrong.” But his charm was unrelenting, and Brittni’s decision to give Justin a chance quickly turned into the worst choice she ever made.
So that she might be able to move forward.
Now she’s stuck with Justin—literally—and the complicated web of misunderstandings that tied up the truth for two years is about to unravel.
An Honest & Emotional Story With A Passionate Romance!!
REVIEW:
The story:
This book is almost told in reverse, with the story starting where our two main characters Brittni and Justin broke up two years ago, but we don't know why. Now they are back in the same city for a mutual friend's engagement, and they end up trapped in an elevator together, with so many unspoken words between them.
We then flashback to where it all began when they first met in college. Each chapter then alternates between their tense conversation in the elevator and the past as it all lead up to their inevitable breakup. The audience is left hanging, desperate to find out what caused their breakup and why they are so hurt mad at each other. With all the misunderstanding and miscommunications that occur between them, my heart broke for both Brittni and Justin. When everything was finally revealed I was absolutely shattered and a complete emotional mess!!
The characters:
Justin, the sexy tattooed bad boy, who isn't that bad after all. He's such a sweet guy and he really cares about his family. But while he may not be a player, he does struggle to make a commitment, mainly out of fear of being hurt. And it's this fear that the 'misunderstanding' stem from. He makes mistakes, BIG ones, but I could understand them and truly felt his pain. Justin might be flawed, but it's those flaws that make him so loveable!
Brittni was quite judgmental to begin with, quickly labelling Justin and man-whoring player. She's feisty and quite outspoken, but was able to admit when she was wrong. Brittni's far from perfect. She deals with some heavy issues in this book and seeing her struggle with them made her so much more relatable. I felt her pain and torment, which only made the story all the more poignant.
The romance:
The flashback chapters where Brittni and Justin fall in love where beautiful. When they first meet they both make assumptions about each other, but soon learn they couldn't be more wrong. Their first date was so sweet, as where many of their other scenes together. But what they struggle with in their relationship is miscommunication. Some of the things these two go through ripped my heart to shreds!! But seeing them finally work through it and learn how to talk to one another was so rewarding as a reader.
The writing:
I felt Tiffany's use of flashback chapters was really effective. It created so much suspense & tension and it had me turning the pages so quickly, desperate to find out what the big 'misunderstanding' was!! The pacing was steading, leading up to the climax of the story, which made for a really engaging story.
FINAL WORD:
Misunderstandings is an honest and emotional story with a passionate romance. With it's unique writing style and engaging characters, this one is a must read!
