BLURB:
Max Payton lives by two rules:

Size and strength win any fight, and never show weakness.

When a rash of assaults sends Bowler University for a tail spin, Max volunteers to help teach a self-defense class. One of the other instructors is the beautiful pixie-faced girl he keeps butting heads with…and who challenges everything he thought he knew.

Lea Travers avoids guys like Max - cocky jocks who assume she's fragile because of a disability caused by a childhood accident. She likes to be in control, and something about being with Max makes her feel anything but. But during the moments he lets his guard down, Lea sees a soul as broken inside as she is outside. Trusting him is a whole other problem...

When the assaults ramp up and hit close to home, Lea and Max must learn, before it’s too late, that true strength can come from vulnerability…and giving in to trust is sometimes the only way to make things right.

Megan is the master of hot flirty banter and swoon worthy heroes!

REVIEW:
The story:
The Bowler University series is EXACTLY what NA books should be about!! Twenthy-somethings finding their feet in the real world and experiencing REAL problems. It's not just lust driven sex scenes!! Don't get me wrong, there are some yummy scenes to enjoy, but they are set within a well developed story line with strong characters.

Lea has a an injury to her leg that make other's view her as weak, but she is anything but. She doesn't let the injury slow her down, if anything she uses as inspiration to be a stronger -emotionally and physically. But after a spate of violent gang attacks on campus, including on her cousin, Lea decides to it's time to empower her classmates with some self defence classes. And when tough guy, Max, shows up as the assistant, Lea takes the opportunity to show him that strength comes in all different shapes and sizes.

Max has always been taught to be a man and to never back down from a fight. When the violent attacks on campus escalate, Max doesn't fear for his safety, believing he could defend himself and fight back. It's not until the self defines classes with Lea that he questions his attitude and starts to see a different kind of strength in the form of Lea. As they spend more time together they can no longer fight the attraction between them. But with the attacks becoming more and more violent, it's only a matter of time before someone get's seriously injured or worse.

The characters:
After reading the first book in the series and finding my fictional sole mate in Alec, I was afraid I may not be able to like Max…but fear not!! I fell hard for this Sexy-Bad-Boy-Cat-Lover. Oh there is something seriously sexy about a tough manly man going all marshmallow centred over a kitten *dreamy sigh* I mean he bakes gourmet cookies for his cat for crying out loud!! Yes Max has made a few mistakes, but we learn a lot about his past and seeing his vulnerable side explains a lot about his actions. He truly is a worthy hero and deserves he's HEA.

Lea was such a wonderful heroine, she's a regular girl and very relatable. But what I really loved was that despite having a permanent injury to her leg, Lea never let it define her - which was very empowering to see. I also loved seeing her teach Max about a different type of strength, other than just brut force. She shows him that asking for help is not a weakness, but a strength in itself.

The secondary characters were excellent and gave the story so much more strength. Alec & Kat make some appearances along with Max's other roommate Cam (who I'm already crushing over). And meeting Max's family gave some great insight into Max's insecurities.

The romance:
Max & Lea compliant each other perfectly. On the surface they appear quite different, a tough bad boy and a sweet kindhearted girl. But there is a lot more going on under the surface with both of them, and as the spend more time with one another, a beautiful friendship is born. Slowly that friendship developed into a passionate and sexy romance, built on trust and respect.

Oh and I've never heard of shoo-fly pie before, but after watching these two eat one, I am desperate to try some ;)

The writing:
One of the strongest elements in Megan's writing is the dialogue between all the characters. Each character has a clear 'voice' and personality and it's displayed perfectly through all their conversations. In particular I really enjoyed the flirty banter between Max & Lea, it brought out their fun and sexy personalities and created a great basis for their relationship to develop on.

FINAL WORD:
Make It Right is exactly what I love about NA romance. Megan is the master of hot flirty banter and swoon worthy heroes. I've had such a powerful connection to the characters and their stories in the Bowler University Series so far and I can't wait to get my hands on Cam…oh and his story too.
