Feature & Follow Friday #13

"The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read."

Q: What do you do with your books after you are done reading them?

For the books that I enjoy or are part of a series I'm still reading I keep them in my ever growing bookshelves. I'm a bit a book hoarder and hate getting rid of any books.

If I didn't enjoy the book I will either offer it to my friends or give it to our local Lifeline Book Fair. I love that they go to a good course and also that someone who will actually enjoy the book will have it.

  2. Yes I'm hoarder too! I tend to love all my books and keep them. I don't give them away which leads to my problem of not enough space on the shelf now. So having to build a new shelf will have to come up soon to rid the pile upon my drawer. :)

  4. I'm a hoarder too, having a hard time letting go of a book. If I find I didn't like the book, I'll donate them after a year (or two).

  5. I have a bad habit of keeping series books even when I don't like them. I don't want to get rid of them until I know for sure that I'm not going to continue the series. Like the Mortal Instruments. I was going to give away City of Bones, but then I found out the next one for $2, so now I have to keep both until I read the second. Then decide if I'm going to buy the third.

  6. Hopping through. It's so hard to get rid of books. I am more willing if I didn't like it much but usually the books I own, I like. Iffy books I get from the library.

    1. Yeah I'm the same, if I buy a physical copy I'm usually pretty picky & maker sure it's something I'll most likely enjoy, anything else I either borrow or get an eBook.

  8. I hold on to books too, but I'm getting lots of good ideas from this bloghop for what I could do with my books that I need to let go.

  9. I used to be a book hoarder myself before I lost all my books! I had a hard time trading them in! The ones I knew I'd never read again, I would bring to our used bookstore and trade them for different ones. Nowadays, I mainly have e-books and I hold onto those. Though I should organize my Nook/Kindle a bit more!

    1. That must have been devastating to loose all your books :( Having eBooks does make it easier to store them - I've been getting more & more of them lately. Especially since I read more books now, I don't think I could afford to buy that many physical books!

  11. I keep my favorites and lend them out. My friends call my library Elizabeth's Lending Library.

The ones that aren't my favorite go to our library's book sale or for our book month swap at my book club.
