"The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read."
Question:
Q: Q: Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why?
Sadly yes I have broken up with a couple of series:
Fallen by Lauren Kate
I just found this one to be so boring, nothing really happened and I just couldn't be bothered to continue. I keep saying maybe one day I'll check the next book out, but I know I won't.
Halo by Alexandra Adornetto
This book was so frustrating, all I wanted to do was slap Beth for being so stupid (and I NEVER want to slap heroines!)

I haven't read either of these yet... but I have been wanting to read Fallen for a long time now. I wonder if I'll quit it too!!

Maybe you'll have better luck with them than me - I here Fallen is being made into a movie, so there must be some people out there that enjoyed the series :)
DeleteI sometimes want to slap characters or shake them!! It happens from time to time! lol

Haha, yeah some characters can be sooo frustrating!!!
DeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the follow.
I am now one of your followers.
Nice blog. I believe that Fallen and Halo are quite popular.
But I haven't read any of them, or maybe I'll never read them.
Happy Friday Amy. Nice to meet you.
Thanks! I really thought I would enjoy these books, especially since they are quite popular, but sadly they just weren't for me :(
DeleteThanks for stopping by, have a great week!
I quit Fallen too, after 2 books it started to get tedious:( PS: new follower on bloglovin!

I almost got the 2nd book, but from the reviews I read I didn't think I was going to like it any more than the 1st one sadly. Thanks for following!
DeleteI read Fallen and Felt the same as you. I just thought it was painfully boring.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.

Have a great weekend
Michelle@Because reading is better than real life
So true, it just seemed like nothing really happened?? Thanks for following
DeleteI had a little break with Fallen as well, but I ended up going back and finishing the series lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! Following via Bloglovin and GFC!
I'm jealous you enjoyed the series more than me...maybe I should try again...:)
DeleteHi Amy, thanks for following. I'm following via Bloglovin & Google + also. I haven't read those series but what a shame they disappointed you. What a great idea for a FF post, characters you want to slap! I'm sure that would bring up a lively discussion.
ReplyDeleteHaha that would be an awesome FF post!!! I'm sure there would be some interesting answers :)
DeleteI haven"t started either of these series, and I don't plan on it. At least not anytime soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! Now following GFC!
That's probably a wise decision lol ;) Thanks for the follow!
DeleteAww kind of sucks because I have wanted to read the Fallen series! I may still read them but won't go in with any expectations. It's good to know beforehand if their worth all the hype! Great FF, have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteNew GFC/Bloglovin' Follower!
My FF HERE.

Maybe that was my problem - I had very high exceptions for Fallen and was let down. Maybe you'll enjoy more than I did! Have a great week :)
DeleteI haven't yet started the Halo series though I do own all the books. And I really enjoyed Fallen when I read it way back when. I'm not so sure I would anymore given all the amazing stories involving angel lore that have been written since. And I was not a fan of the sequel in that series, but am still going to try to finish it without a breakup. Though it may very well end up on that list.
ReplyDeleteHappy Follow Friday. Thanks for the follow. Am following via Bloglovin!
There are some much better angel books now - I love the Violet Eden Chapters by Jessica Shirvington, so now I compare all angel books to them!
DeleteI read Fallen till the 3rd book. 4th I just couldn't get into and haven't been able, nor do I want to finish it. Haven't and refuse to read Halo lol. It does have an incredibly beautiful cover though...What a shame.

I think I was fooled by the cover of Halo - so disappointing! It's probably a good decision to avoid that series!
DeleteI stop after a lot of book ones, but I don't even consider that breaking up (more just a bad blind date). But after book 2 I'm generally continuing the series. I don't really know why I do that.
ReplyDeleteMy follow friday! Please visit!
Haha that's so true - very bad blind dates!!! Once I'm invested into a series I like to know what happens too, even if it has gotten boring, it's hard to stop without knowing how it all ends!
DeleteI just got fallen from the library, but after seeing how big it was I requested the audio book LMAO. Hopefully I'll have better luck listening to it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by mine!! And I love your banner =D

Mmm, that's a good idea, maybe I should get the audio for the rest of the series, because I do hate not knowing how it all finishes!
DeleteThose series never interested me so I guess it is good that you broke up with them. Thanks for sharing and visiting my FF. New GFC follower. =]
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes I got caught up with all the hype surrounding these two series, and it certainly didn't live up to it for me!
DeleteI'm starting to feel pretty awful about my super long break up list! I keep saying I'm going to start Fallen but the reviews are so wishy washy I just keep pushing it further and further down my TBR list. :-/
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for dropping by my blog this week! And for giving me a meaty comment!
Octavia of Read. Sleep. Repeat.
I have a lot of books like that too - some have been on my TBR list for years, but I always seem to find other more important books to read first!!
DeleteThanks for stopping by - have a lovely week :)
Hi! Just Hopping though. Never have read any of the new crop of "Angel" lore books. I guess I'm a little wary. I keep meaning to try them out though and Fallen was going to be the guinea pig...hmmm, not so sure about that now.

I didn't really think about these both being 'angel' books...maybe angel stories just aren't my thing...mmm. Maybe you'll have more luck with them! :)
DeleteI know what you mean. I tried both and felt the same way. I was so excited for both when they came out because of the great covers and the hype but they were disappointing.
ReplyDeleteYes, I feel so disappointed when a book has such an amazing cover and everyone is taking it up, and then it just doesn't live up to my expectations.
DeleteThanks Brandi :)
ReplyDeleteI too broke up with Fallen. It wasn't doing it for me.

And it's so disappointing since the cover is so pretty!
