1ST BLOGIVERSARY + GIVEAWAY!!!
I can't believe I have been doing this for a whole year now!! WOO HOO!!
Things I've learned:
Don't request ALL THE BOOKS!!
I learnt this one pretty quickly! After discovering Netgalley and got a little excited, whoops! But now I only request review books by authors I love or books that I'm almost certain I will enjoy. And I'm proud to say I have my Netgalley percentage up to 90%!!
Don't stress the numbers!
I remember at first I was checking all my stats and excited as my followers number was growing. And while of course it's lovely to have new followers I'm more excited by the new friendships I'm making now! I love to chat with people on twitter and fangirl over book boyfriend etc!
Things I'd Like To Achieve Over The Next Year:
Comment more!
I've already starting commenting a lot more this year, and it's been great getting to know bloggers and what types of books they like etc! After all that's the whole reason why I started my blog, to get to know other book lovers and share my passion with them! If you'd like me to check out your blog, just post your link in the comments :)
Silver Eye Designs coming soon…
I plan on launching my freelance graphic design business online. I've already been freelancing for a number of years, but it's only been locally. I'm hoping to launch my book cover and swag design page by June! I'm extremely excited about this (and a little nervous) as this has been my dream for a long long time!
Best Things to Happen From Blogging:
Meeting my favourite author Jessica Shirvington
My first book launch & signing - such an exciting moment for me!!
Discovering Indie Authors
I used to just shop in the major book sellers, so without blogging I never would have discovered so many amazingly talented authors! I love spreading the word when I've found an awesome new indie book that deserves major fangirling!
And of course making so many new bookish friends from all over the world!
Since none of my friends read, being able to fangirl over books with all of you has been of of the best things to come from blogging. So thank you!!!
And because I love you all so much I'm having a giveaway to celebrate!!!
And it's INTERNATIONAL!!

DeleteHappy bloggy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteWow, a year is an incredible milestone! I thought it had been a lot longer, you've achieved so much in such a short amount of time!
I was exactly the same when I begun, and went bonkers requesting on Netgalley. It's too easy and far too addictive. To get your read ratio up to 90% is phenomenal.
Thanks Kelly!!! Netgalley is most certainly addictive, when I see people mentioning new books up for request I have to control my clicky fingers!! It took a lot of self control to get the ratio up to 90%, but I know it will drop as soon as I request more books (which, let's face it I know I will). :)
DeleteHappy Blogoversary Amy!!! I celebrated mine in January! I'm so glad I met you :) It feels good to have reached a year, and you must be filling very proud, and a sense of accomplishment! You've done such a great job with your blog!!!

ReplyDeleteHappy Blogoversary Amy :) I agree, the new bookish friends I've met is the best part about blogging. You're doing really well with a 90% ratio on Netgalley. I've finally managed to get mine up over 80, and I'm trying to not request too many any more either.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!!
