Feature & Follow Friday #9

"The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read."

Question:
Q: What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, eBooks or paperback?

Well I'm gonna start by saying that although I was totally against eBooks at first, I now love them! Yes they are convenient, you can carry thousands of books with you everywhere, you can buy them instantly while sitting at home in your fluffy bunny slippers & they are often very cheap!

But what I love the most about eBooks is that so many great indie authors have been able to put their books out there for people like us to read :D

But…no matter how great eBooks are I will always love my printed books, especially hardcovers. I usually get my favourite books or series in hardcover.

What's so great about printed books you ask?

Well I love the feel of them my hands…the velvety dust jacket with the metallic embossed lettering…the crinkle of the paper as you turn the page and the smell…oh how I love the smell of a good book. Yes that's right, my secret is out - I sniff books!

Okay I got a little carried away there - I'll stop now ;)

  4. I used to hate ebooks, and I somewhat still do. I don't know, I just think it's uncomfortable to read with them. Maybe it's because I don't have a proper ereader like Kindle.

    Following back :)

    1. I agree that sometimes they can be hard to read - I find if I read an eBook for too long my eyes get really sore, but they never do with a physical book. Although that's with an iPad, so maybe we should get proper eReaders haha :D

  7. Thanks for the follow, favor returned. I too disliked e-readers, but now I have one and it's very convenient, especially for taking to work, and for reading all the ebooks I have, as I dislike reading at the computer any more than I can help. But you're right, there is something about the feel and smell of a new paperback!

  9. I followed via bloglovin!

I love my ebooks. Not that I wouldn't love hard copies too but the ability to carry my library with me at all times is a huge plus.

    1. That's true - plus you have a choice of hundreds of books on file, rather than just the one book you can fit in your bag :D

    1. Yep I think blogging has helped convert me to eBooks somewhat - it allows me to read so many more books!
Sadly books are pretty damn expensive in Australia (even paperbacks), so I buy a lot from overseas and I hate having to wait 2 weeks before they arrive! eBooks a instantaneous! :D
